In terms of my...

attitudes toward mental health, and the stigmas I have faced while coming to terms with my loved one's condition, I found NAMI Westside LA Family-to- Family class educated me beyond my expectation.

I felt guided...

with care, knowledge, and grace.

It was great...

💙As Election Day arrives on November 5th, remember that your mental health matters as much as your vote. 💙

The intensity of this day can bring up a lot of emotions – anxiety, stress, and anticipation. No matter the outcome, it’s essential to stay grounded, take things one moment at a time, and focus on your well-being. NAMI WLA is here for you and your mental health journey, today and every day.

Here are five grounding tools to help you through Election Day:

1)Breathwork: Calm the nerves with deep, intentional breaths. Try the 4-7-8 technique: inhale for 4 seconds, hold for 7, and exhale for 8 to bring yourself back to center.

2)Limit News Intake: Set boundaries with media consumption. Pick specific times to check updates, then refocus on calming activities.

3)Mindful Movement: Go for a walk, stretch, or do gentle yoga to release built-up tension and bring balance to body and mind.

4)Gratitude Practice: Reflect on three things you’re grateful for today – a powerful way to find positivity and stay resilient.

5)Stay Connected: Reach out to loved ones, friends, or a support network. Sharing your thoughts can offer comfort and remind you that you’re not alone.

Remember, NAMI WLA stands with you every step of the way. Take care, breathe, and make space for self-care today.
