Family to Family Classes

Discover NAMI Family-to-Family, a free, educational program offered by NAMI Westside Los Angeles, designed for families, partners, and friends of individuals with mental illness. Led by trained family members who understand your challenges, this course covers essential topics like understanding diagnoses, improving communication, and developing coping skills. Itโ€™s not just about gaining knowledge; itโ€™s about building a supportive community with others who share similar experiences, providing both strength and understanding.

The NAMI Peer-to-Peer class is a free class for those living with mental health conditions. The 16-hour, 8-week class is taught in a progressive manner by a team of trained mentors who have personal experience living well with their mental health conditions. This class is for adults (18+) with mental health conditions who are looking to better understand themselves and their recovery. Each class will examine another aspect of living with a mental health condition and lead into the next lesson in a logical fashion.

NAMI Homefront is a free, 6-session educational program for families, caregivers and friends of military service members and veterans with mental health conditions. Based on the nationally recognizedย NAMI Family-to-Familyย program, NAMI Homefront is designed to address the unique needs of family, caregivers and friends of those who have served or are currently serving our country. It is designed to help family members understand and support their service member/veteran while maintaining their own well-being.

NAMIโ€™s Basics Class is the free, signature education program for parents and other caregivers of children and adolescents living with mental health conditions. The class is offered in person orย online.

Six classes, each lasting for 2 ยฝ hours, may be offered weekly for six consecutive weeks, or may be offered twice per week for three weeks to accommodate the hectic schedules of parents. The class is taught by NAMI-trained parents or caregivers of individuals who developed the symptoms of mental illness before the age of 13 years.
