Thank you for considering the Lanetta Wahlgren Internship Program at NAMI Westside Los Angeles.
Our program is an excellent opportunity for community college and university students who are passionate about making positive impacts on mental health. We provide both class credit and volunteering internship options.
Interns in our program have the chance to gain valuable experience by performing a wide range of duties for NAMI WLA. These include administrative tasks, outreach initiatives, presentations, and supporting NAMI WLA’s warmline, among other responsibilities. Through this hands-on experience and robust training, interns are well-prepared for future professional roles and can serve as effective mental health advocates within their communities.
If you’re interested in receiving class credit, we recommend checking with your college or university’s department to ensure that NAMI Westside Los Angeles has a current partnership or that our program meets the eligibility requirements for course credit.
To ensure a smooth application process, please fill out the interest form below 3 – 4 weeks before the end of your college/university quarter or semester to receive further information. Should you have any questions or require assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Alan at asoto@namila.org
We appreciate your interest in our internship program and look forward to potentially working with you to make a positive impact on mental health.
