Message From Our CEO

For Mental Health Awareness Month this year, we’re embracing the theme “Take a Moment” and “Do It Your Way,” a call to action for each of us to recognize and nurture our mental health in the most personal and impactful manner.

With the “Do It Your Way” initiative, we’re giving individuals the chance to create personalized experiences for their fundraising efforts, with the idea that activities that are meaningful and tailored are more resonant and engaging. An example: there is a Beach Walk and Sketch meet-up planned at the Annenberg Community Beach House in Santa Monica, which gives community members a chance to connect in-person with your favorite NAMI Westside LA teachers and facilitators! The event on Saturday, May 11, 9 am to 11 am, promises fun, relaxation, and community bonding—all in support of mental health awareness and fundraising for NAMI’s life-changing programs.

Ways to Make A Difference

NAMI’s theme for this year’s Mental Health Awareness month is “Take a Moment” and we urge you to focus on your mental health and join us in taking action in ways that are most meaningful to us. Whether it’s through attending one of our May community events, volunteering, donating, or simply spending a quiet moment in reflection, every action counts.
