How Do We Spend Your Membership Funds and Donations?

  • $40 provides materials for an 8-week Peer-to-Peer class, or an 8-week Family-to-Family Class.
  • $150 provides one Ending the Silence presentation given to middle school or high school students in the classroom setting. This gives students an opportunity to learn symptoms and indicators of mental health conditions as well as ideas about how to help themselves, friends, or family members who need support.
  • $200 provides funding for NAMI SMARTS for Advocacy, a hands-on workshop designed to empower individuals with mental health conditions and their family members to become effective advocates in their communities.
  • $300 provides one Ending the Silence for Families or Ending the Silence for Staff. These workshops are for parents or staff of middle or high school students to help understand the early warning signs of mental health conditions. They learn how best to provide support so that those in need can be linked with services before a crisis hits.
  • $400 provides materials for a 10-week Family-to-Family class.
  • $1,200 provides materials for three 10-week Family-to-Family classes.
  • $____ provides additional funding for the Lanetta Wahlgren NAMI Westside LA Internship Program, which is designed to give college students hands-on experience in mental health advocacy, education, and community engagement. With additional funding, we can expand opportunities for students to develop leadership skills, gain professional experience, and support vital mental health programs in our community.
  • $1800 provides funding to run a NAMI State Training for 10 peers living with mental health conditions to become NAMI certified facilitators to lead peer support groups.
  • $9,000 provides payment for a Peer Support Group to meet one night per week for an entire year.
