NAMI Los Angeles County Council will sponsor this two-day Basics Teacher Training set for April 18-19, 2020 at Kaiser Pasadena. The Basics curriculum is designed to enable co-leaders who are not mental health professionals to conduct the classes. It is an opportunity for NAMI members to help guide other family members in navigating the challenges of supporting a loved one who is experiencing a mental illness. Teachers also let students know they are not alone.
The cost: $100 per student for LA County NAMI affiliate members, waived upon participant graduation. If attendance is cancelled less than 7 days before the training or participant does not graduate, LACC will assess the fee. Non-LA County NAMI affiliate members: $200 per student. Cost covers trainer fees, breakfast and lunch for both days; and training materials.
