I hope you and your family are safe.

The COVID-19 crisis is something we are experiencing together as a community, and we are working hard to make sure we can continue to provide our members and community with support during this difficult and uncertain time.

The NAMI Westside LA team understands that while this crisis is unsettling for everyone, it is even more so for those of us impacted by mental health conditions. We’ve heard from peers and family members who have reported feeling especially challenged by the increasing restrictions, such as social distancing and self-isolation, being taken to protect the public health.

That’s why it’s more important than ever that NAMI Westside LA continue to fulfill our mission of providing our community with mental health support and services. And I am thrilled, grateful, and proud to report we’re rising to meet the challenge.

Our Family-to-Family classes are now being completed online, and we look forward to offering our first virtual classes later this spring, for both families and peers.

We’re also launching virtual family and peer support groups this week, and will continue to offer them for as long as the public health guidelines remain in place and prevent us from meeting in person. We will be offering:

Please follow us on social media as we continue to add even more resources, and check our COVID-19 page, which we are keeping updated with the latest news, information and resources, including mental health guidance. We also have a family guide for parents and children and a post on ways to stay connected while social-distancing guidelines are in place.

We can and must support one another during this difficult time. We encourage you to check in on your loved ones and neighbors while heeding the recommendations of our public health officials. We are doing the same.
