Banteay Srei (Asian Health Services)

Banteay Srei is a safe space for young Southeast Asian women, that promotes education, community and leadership development to foster cultural pride, and self-determination for women at-risk of or engaged in sexual exploitation. Banteay Srei provides social, peer and intergenerational support, healing arts, reproductive health education, life skills-building and leadership development. The name Banteay Srei comes from an ancient temple in Cambodia which means “the women’s temple”- built to honor female deities and representing strength, unity, and safety. This name was chosen to inspire a space that would be created to honor women and provide tools for self-empowerment.

Center for Pacific Asian Family

Center for the Pacific Asian Family (CPAF) is recognized nationally for our pioneering work in domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse services within the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Islander (API) community. We created the first multi-lingual 24-hour helpline assisting API survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault in the nation. We opened the first emergency shelter and the first transitional program specialized in serving API survivors. We provide a wide range of comprehensive services, focusing on the needs of survivors who seek to establish independent, violence-free lives. Our services are free of charge, conducted in many API languages. In 2005, we expanded our Community Program, focusing on community engagement and violence prevention programs.

Stuart House, Santa Monica - UCLA Medical Center

Stuart House was established in 1988 by the Rape Treatment Center at Santa Monica UCLA Medical Center. Stuart House provides comprehensive and specialized services for sexually abused children and their caregivers in a child-friendly facility located in Santa Monica, California. Services include expert forensic interviews and evidentiary medical examinations, advocacy and individualized child and family therapy to help children and their caregivers cope with the traumatic effects of sexual abuse. Stuart House services are provided free of cost. Stuart House does not ask for any financial or insurance information and we do not bill insurance or state victim compensation. To enhance access to Stuart House services, we can help families who cannot afford to pay for transportation on their own. Stuart House provides on-site therapy services that are sexual abuse-focused and include crisis intervention services as well as longer-term psychotherapy for child victims and their non offending family members or other caretakers. Stuart House therapists have had extensive training and experience in treating child victims of sexual abuse and utilizing evidence-based clinical interventions. Stuart House therapists are licensed clinical social workers, psychologists and marriage and family therapists. The therapists conduct thorough clinical and trauma-specific assessments that include standardized assessment tools. All child victims receive individual therapy as do their caregivers as a primary modality. Group and/or family treatment may be used to augment these interventions. Therapy services are available in English and Spanish.

Ujima: The National Center on Violence Against Women in the Black Community

Launched in 2016, Ujima, Inc.: The National Center on Violence Against Women in the Black Community serves as a national, culturally-specific services issue resource center to provide support to and be a voice for the Black Community in response to domestic, sexual and community violence. Ujima was founded in response to a need for an active approach to ending domestic, sexual and community violence in the Black community.
