Renewed Freedom Center for Rapid Anxiety Relief

The Renewed Freedom Center for Rapid Anxiety Relief was established in 2008 to help those suffering from OCD and related anxiety disorders. Due to the lack of specialized pediatric OCD services, the Renewed Freedom Center has a separate program that focuses on intensive OCD treatment for children and adolescents within the family system. Since family members are oftentimes reluctantly involved in and affected by the sufferer’s behaviors or rituals, our philosophy is to involve the family or primary caretakers in the treatment when necessary. The program is led by the Executive Director, Dr. Jenny C. Yip, who is actively involved in patient care and the implementation of each individually-tailored treatment plan. Our staff consists of Licensed Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Marriage & Family Therapists, and Post-Doctoral Fellows. Each clinician has extensive training in Cognitive-Behavior Therapy (CBT) for anxiety disorders, and specifically Prolonged Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD and OC Spectrum Disorders. Due to our highly individualized treatment approach, space is limited in our Intensive Outpatient Program, and acceptance is determined based on severity and necessity of each case. Treatment involves a multidisciplinary team providing state-of-the-art Mindfulness-Based Strategic Cognitive Behavior Therapy to help sufferers experience immediate relief. Our mission is to provide the most effective, brief treatment while equipping individuals and family members with essential tools to manage symptoms beyond the termination of therapy.

Spectrum CBT

Spectrum CBT was founded in 2011 by Sarosh Motivala, PhD. We provide individual focused treatment for OCD, depression, social anxiety, generalized anxiety and panic. Spectrum CBT has traditional outpatient treatment and Spectrum 360, an individual-focused intensive treatment program. We do not offer groups; instead we prefer to work directly one-on-one with our clients. In our IOP, a team of three psychologists work together with you during your time in our IOP. We blend emotion-processing theory based exposure and response prevention (ERP) with inhibitory learning based ERP. We carry out these approaches using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). OCD is a heterogeneous diagnosis and also highly comorbid with other DSM-5 diagnoses. We specialize in helping individuals using clinical science informed, evidence based approaches. All our clients periodically provide self-report assessments and interview-based assessments (eg YBOCS) so we can track progress. Our priority is to help the whole person; to serve that aim, we integrate CBT strategies beyond ERP that include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Watkins’ Rumination focused CBT and Wells’ metacognitive therapy.

Westwood Institute for Anxiety Disorders

In 1994 upon completing her training with Dr. Edna Foa, Dr. Eda Gorbis began using Dr. Foa’s intensive method involving prolonged and repeated exposures and response prevention (ERP) for treating OCD. The Westwood Institute for Anxiety Disorders was founded in 1997 by Dr. Gorbis in response to the lack of expertise and successful treatment of obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). Since the 1990s, Dr. Gorbis has successfully treated numerous patients from many parts of the world suffering from severe OCD and has trained many clinicians from the United States and across the world on her intensive integrated method. This program is a highly personalized intensive program for those with anxiety-related disorders. While it is very time consuming and difficult, it is also exhibits a very high level of success with people who have failed on average 2-3 programs prior to attending ours.
