At the annual NAMI Westside LA gala on Sunday, May 19, we honored those making a difference in mental health and celebrated our recent progress in helping to end stigma, reach and engage with more Angelenos, and provide much-needed support for those affected by mental health conditions.

Our honorees: The Excellence in Public Service Award went to Dr. Jonathan Sherin, M.D., Ph.D., Director of the Los Angeles Department of Mental Health, who leads the largest public health system in the country; Our Distinguished Service Award went to Dr. Blaise Aguirre, M.D., Medical Director of 3East Continuum, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School; Our Outstanding Community Service Award was given to Patsy Noah and Sharon Feldstein, co-founders of YourMomCares, a movement dedicated to children’s mental wellness; our Rising Star Award went to Dylan Dunlap, a former contestant on “The Voice” who uses his platform as a musician to raise awareness about mental health. Dunlap also performed a new song for our guests.
