CalFresh

The CalFresh Program (formerly known as Food Stamps) helps low-income households increase their food-buying power to meet their household’s nutritional needs. CalFresh benefits issued through Electronic Benefit Transfer, also known as EBT card, can be used in grocery stores and participating Farmers Markets. Homeless, elderly or disabled persons may purchase prepared meals from participating restaurants with their EBT card. Effective June 1, 2019, SSI/SSP recipients in California are also eligible for CalFresh benefits, provided all other eligibility requirements are met.

California Women, Infants, and Children (WIC)

PHFE WIC, a program of Heluna Health, provides healthy food, nutrition education, breastfeeding support, and family resources to more than 200,000 women, children, and families in Southern California. If you’re pregnant, or a caretaker of a child under age five, you can get personalized support for you and your family. Culver Palms Meals on Wheels (CPMOW) (homebound individuals)

Since 1974, we have been delivering frozen nutritious meals to those individuals who need assistance with meal preparation due to illness, accident, convalescence or age. Meals are delivered Monday through Friday between 11 am to 12:30 pm. We have a 3-day minimum service and we also offer additional meals for the weekend. Sandwiches are also available for an additional cost. Most special dietary needs can be accommodated (e.g. diabetic, puree, renal, low vitamin K, low cholesterol). Meals on Wheels West Los Angeles (homebound individuals)

Since 1976, Meals on Wheels of West Los Angeles, a non-profit, volunteer community service organization has been providing nutritious meals and friendship to individuals who are unable to plan, shop, or prepare meals for themselves due to illness, disability, or advanced age. Monday through Friday, our volunteers deliver a hot midday meal and a cold supper to elderly and disabled individuals living in West LA. We deliver over 45,000 meals a year. Our volunteers deliver 5 days a week. By giving their time as well as the use of their vehicles, our volunteers help ease any loneliness or isolation a client may feel. They serve as a critical link between the client and his/her family, loved ones, and neighbors. The West LA FamilySource Center is one of 21 centers funded by the City of Los Angeles. All services are free. Eligible clients must be low/moderate income residents of the City of Los Angeles. Westside Coalition

The Westside Coalition, addressing Housing, Hunger and Health is an alliance of over47 organizations, public agencies and faith communities addressing issues of Housing Hunger and Health through service coordination, public education and advocacy.
