Our Executive Director, Erin Raftery Ryan, participated in a panel discussion after a special screening at the Museum of Tolerance of HBO’s documentary, “Ernie and Joe: Crisis Cops,” about two members of San Antonio Police Department’s mental health unit.

We were inspired by film’s depiction of the team’s trailblazing work, as well as their compassion and commitment to changing the system and fighting the stigma surrounding mental health. We are grateful to our own first responders in Los Angeles and will continue to push for more education and stigma-busting efforts to ensure the safety of our community members in need of emergency assistance in a mental health crisis.
